DSharp helps organizations make messy data usable for AI – new equity investment accelerates growth

Organizations often struggle to turn artificial intelligence into real business value because their data is fragmented and inconsistent. Definitions and metrics are created ad hoc, leading to multiple versions of the same concepts and key figures across different systems. The root cause is not a lack of AI technology, but the fact that data has not been modelled in a way that ensures consistency, traceability, and efficient reuse.

The challenge is especially significant in early-digitalized organizations, where data has accumulated over many years across various systems and data warehouses. Several organizations that handle large amounts of sensitive data have already benefited from the expertise of the Finnish company DSharp, including Metsähallitus, wellbeing services counties, healthcare organizations, and cities.

DSharp’s model-driven, business-led automation enables order to data chaos, even in long-established environments. DSharp Studio connects definitions, metrics, and data flows into a single cohesive whole. As a result, all reporting, analytics, and AI applications can be built on the same existing data foundation without costly and error-prone rebuilding.

“Moving from AI experiments to real business impact requires that AI can rely on data that is correct, consistent, and reusable across the organization. The larger and more data-intensive the organization, and the longer its history, the less often this is possible by default. In practice, without model-based data automation, AI transformation rarely scales beyond pilots”, says Tero-Matti Kinanen, CEO of DSharp.

To accelerate its growth, DSharp has raised just over EUR 400 000 in equity funding. The new capital will be used to further develop the product, strengthen international sales and marketing, scale commercial operations, and build a repeatable delivery model. The funding round included Gorilla Capital, Netprofile Growth Plus, Inosto, Monttu Ventures, as well as private investors and employees.

“DSharp closes a critical execution gap in analytics and AI. Organizations invest heavily in data platforms yet still struggle to scale analytics and AI in practice. DSharp enables businesses to turn existing data assets into a shared, business-owned foundation on top of which solutions can be built faster and more reliably”, says Petri Lehmuskoski, Partner at Gorilla Capital.

DSharp’s ambition is to become a key player in the data automation market that underpins analytics and AI. The company’s flagship product, DSharp Studio, is a powerful low-code tool that provides the foundation for scaling analytics and AI. DSharp Scout, an AI-powered solution currently in pilot phase, provides data users with an easy-to-use interface to business information models.
