Pirte’s Data Platform Modernization Boosts Data-Driven Healthcare
Pirte, a healthcare and occupational health service provider based in the Pirkanmaa region, is transitioning to a modern reporting platform with support from DSharp. Outdated technologies are being replaced to enable more versatile and impactful use of data across the organization. For customers, this change happens quietly in the background. High-quality reporting continues as before, and improvements will be introduced step by step.
Maintaining legacy systems often leads to high costs due to constant updates and patches, with relatively limited benefits in return. In occupational healthcare, modern systems are essential for ensuring secure and efficient operations.
As a leader in its field, Pirte takes responsibility for keeping its systems and practices up to date. The data platform modernization, launched in early 2025, is the company’s latest development project. Its aim is to renew external reporting and strengthen the foundation for modern data-driven leadership.
According to Pirte’s Chief Information Officer, Jukka Nurminen, replacing outdated technologies is a necessary step when working with sensitive information.
“We don’t want to end up in a situation where, in five years, our technologies are outdated and no longer supported by experts. This was the right time to modernize our systems and build a scalable foundation for future needs. DSharp provides the modeling technology that powers our entire data platform. It is the modern way to structure the data warehouse and integrate features into our own reporting system.”
Bringing together data from multiple sources is like assembling a puzzle. Each piece adds a new perspective to improve operations. DSharp’s solutions enable seamless automation and integration, helping Pirte’s leadership and teams gain a clear understanding of their work.
This transformation also supports Pirte’s competitiveness in a fast-moving market, where decision-making must be swift and resource use highly effective.
“In the future, we can enrich the new data warehouse with data from various source systems. This allows us to produce more diverse insights to support decision-making. What matters most is having a clear understanding of what we want to achieve with the data,” Nurminen explains.
Seamless for the Customer
DSharp’s system renewal is more than just a technical upgrade. It’s a strategic move aligned with Pirte’s long-term goals. It strengthens the organization’s data-driven culture and commitment to continuous improvement. Pirte and DSharp are showing how technology can enhance internal processes and elevate the customer experience.
Although the renewal brings benefits to end users, the implementation is designed to be as seamless as possible. The goal is that customers won’t even notice the change in the reporting system.
“The migration might continue until the end of the year before the old system is phased out,” says Niina Piittala, BI Specialist at Pirte. “The most important thing is that our customers continue to receive fresh data daily without any disruptions.”
Scalable for the Future
The updated data platform ensures that timely, relevant information is available to Pirte’s occupational health clients via Power BI reports. These reports are particularly valuable for HR and management teams of the occupational health clients making strategic decisions. Internally, they support Pirte’s multidisciplinary teams in analyzing absences, service usage and costs.
In the future, Pirte aims to bring more data from additional source systems into its reporting. The new platform has been designed with this scalability in mind, making future developments much easier.
The collaboration with DSharp doesn’t stop here. Pirte’s reporting system will continue to be developed and refined on a regular basis. Future improvements will focus on enhancing the user experience by ensuring that reports are easy to access and understand at every level of the organization. This kind of joint development is essential to ensure the system meets users’ needs while maintaining high standards of security and quality.
“For this project, the best approach was to continue evolving the technology already in place,” Nurminen concludes. “DSharp was the right partner for this, with modern modeling practices and the right tools for the job.”
