DSharp Studio Modeler

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the DSharp Studio Modeler, a standalone conceptual modeling tool designed for creating, maintaining, and managing complex models. The Modeler is crafted to assist professionals in modeling real-world phenomena drawing inspiration from standard UML features best suited for this purpose. It does this with unparalleled ease and efficiency.

DSharp 5.0 with modeling capabilities is coming! We have just finished a successful beta 1 testing phase, and we can say that the next era of automated data warehousing is right around the corner.

The beta testing group consisted of data professionals from our partners and end customers and the overall feedback was very positive. For example, Senior Data Platform Specialist Johanna Tuominen from Netum Oy enjoyed the new features that will make the modeling a lot easier and said: “The most interesting thing in beta testing was 5.0’s own modeling tool and it seemed really promising. I believe that it will make work much easier when there is no need to use another supplier’s software at the same time.”

Beta testing is an important part of our extensive quality assurance effort. We are really happy to see an increased level of excitement and commitment among our growing DSharp community. Testing gives partners the business opportunity of being first movers with new emerging technology aiming for a new level of productivity and profitability.

Huge thanks to all beta testers, your input is very valuable to us!

Up next is beta 2 and it will be a fully functional version of our new solution. Right after that DSharp 5.0 will be available for customers and partners.

A brief summary of new features:

  • Modeling made simple: automatically configured associations and other productivity-enhancing features for the casual user
  • Power user modeling features, like creating several associations or key definitions with just one click, or creating entire models using the simple Quick Input window
  • Generating the Conceptual model from an existing table structure (reverse-engineer database structure to a Conceptual model)
  • Model Analysis tells you in real time what you still need to do in order to make the model implementable. And not only does it tell you, it also presents you with a selection of actions to choose from to solve the issues with just one click

We will start training with the new version in March. Further details here.

Be ready to take a big leap forward in data modeling with the DSharp!

DSharp courses

We are excited to announce that we have made our course materials and related information on the DSharp Engine, openly accessible to everyone on our website. Our goal is to provide an easily accessible and comprehensive platform for users to explore and understand how the DSharp Engine works. By visiting our Community page, you can now dive into the world of Data Warehouse automation and discover the powerful features of the DSharp Engine. You can check out the course material to learn to use the D♯ Engine for building a Data Warehouse.

Open Access to DSharp’s Course Materials

By opening access to our course materials, we aim to create a vibrant and engaged community of users who can learn and grow together. The materials provided on our website cover a wide range of topics for both introductory and advanced users:

  1. Introductory Course: Check out how to get started with the DSharp Engine by visiting our Intro Course page. This course introduces you to the basics of the DSharp Engine, including its features, benefits, modeling and how to set it up.
  2. Advanced Course: See how the seasoned D♯ Engine users level up their skills with the Advanced Course available at our Advanced Course page . This course dives deeper into the DSharp Engine, covering more advanced topics such as scripting, different approaches to implementing a Business Model, and various cases in Raw Model Implementation.

By providing open access to these resources, we hope to empower data professionals and enthusiasts to learn how to create Data Warehouses faster, leaner, and so that the maintenance and modifications can later be done with less effort.

We organize Intro Courses 1 time per month. The advanced courses are held more on a demand basis. The courses are worth to visit as you get the background info, hands on practice and guidance as well support for learning.

For learning to use the D♯ Engine you also need an environment to study and access to the D♯ Engine, we can of course help with that.
